Upcycle Parts Shop is run by a small group of core staff and a mighty team of volunteers! We would not be able to accomplish half of what we do without their support and energy. If you find creative value in that which has been discarded, care deeply about community and connection, and wish to inspire others through the magic of reuse, keep reading!
Volunteers are at least 18 years of age, but those aged 16-18 can volunteer in the shop with the permission of a parent or guardian after a brief interview. Volunteer shifts in the shop are scheduled for a minimum of (2) hours and will take place on one of the three levels of our space. We are happy to offer take-home projects for our volunteers with limited mobility.
Volunteers do Things Like…
Organize, sort, and tidy the shop and it’s displays
Process, package, and price donations according to written instruction
Measure and roll materials like fabric and vinyl
Assemble and create upcycled works with instruction
Graduate into awesome volunteer opportunities like Shop Support or Program Support
Discounts + First Dibs: Get 20% off your purchase each time you volunteer, plus first dibs on the materials you work with.
Lead by Example: Inspire creative reuse in others and support keeping useful materials out of the landfill.
Be Part of our Community: Meet tons of creatively-minded people who visit our shop and build connections within our space.
How it Works
Once you’ve submitted your application it will be reviewed and approved by our Shop Manager. Please allow 3-5 business days for us to respond and schedule you for an interview and orientation! Volunteers are required to go through an individual training which usually lasts 45 minutes - 1 hour. At this time you’ll get a tour of the shop, learn about our organization, sign some paperwork, and begin scheduling your shifts if you are ready.
If you have any questions about volunteering, please email us at email@example.com.
